Patent Terminology Workflows
Guides and tools for patent examiners, drafters, and IP professionals — validate claim terminology, scan prior art, and export WIPO-verified glossaries.
What this guide covers
Validate every technical term in a patent claim against the WIPO Pearl corpus and cross-reference with ALECSO/Arabterm for the Arabic equivalent.
Use DocCheck to compare terminology usage across patent families — spot inconsistencies before examination.
Build a validated EN→AR glossary for your patent portfolio and export as TBX for your IP management system or CAT tool.
DocCheck — patent document validation
DocCheck uploads a patent document (PDF, DOCX, XLIFF, TMX) and cross-references every technical term against the Taqnilex corpus. It produces a validation report listing each term, its attestation status, source authority, and suggested corrections.
Corpus sources for patent terminology
The primary source for patent terminology. WIPO Pearl provides EN↔AR term pairs extracted from PCT patent applications — validated by WIPO linguists and linked to IPC classes.
905,000+ term pairs in the Taqnilex corpus are sourced from WIPO Pearl and BigQuery patent datasets (SA, JO jurisdictions).Terms with the ★ Harmonised badge have been formally validated by ALECSO under the Arab League. For patents filed in MENA jurisdictions, harmonised terms carry the strongest institutional authority.
695,000+ terms carry the ★ badge — cross-jurisdiction acceptance guaranteed.Quick workflows for examiners
